Toxic Hair Loss from the use of Hair-Dye, some photos of toxic hair-loss.

This article is a continuation of the previous article I wrote, about a very serious condition of having your hair burn off your scalp by using a simple box of dye.
In my original article, I told the story of a lady that I know, who had suffered a terrible loss, when her head was burnt by a treatment of hair-dye.

The reason I am writing this article, is because she has given me pictures to show you, of what her recovery had looked like, what the burns looked like. Everywhere the dye touched her hair was burnt off. Daisy wouldn't be too happy with her pictures being spread out all over the net, so we are making these photos exclusive for searchwarp.com, and sacreeta.com. Daisy wanted people to visually see what she went through, and if anyone wants to use the photos, you only need to message me.

In my cover story, I had nicknamed her Daisy, and we'll still go with that.

Here is the first initial burn that Daisy had suffered. You can see the redness in the skin, she said that it was burning, and burning on the inside. What ever cream was prescribed for Daisy, it didn't stop the burning feeling, and the only cream she said made her feel better, was cortisone, which her Doctor told her wasn't for burns, but as she found out, it did promote hair growth.

After the first year, in this photo you can see a little hair growth around the rim of her burn, but not much had changed. She was still irritated everyday, as the new hairs were poking through, it made her exceptionally itchy.

This picture was taken a year later, and still felt irritated all the time. Daisy's self-esteem had all but diminished, she had completely stopped socializing, and started to turn into a bit of an introvert, which was completely opposite to her normal personality of happy go lucky. She said the trauma, was a humbling experience, and really makes you realize how much she really had.. She felt like she had it all, and didn't know it. She really was fading on us, spiritually. Daisy was in her 20's. It took a lot of girlfriend time, and support from her loved ones, to help her hang in there waiting for it to heal.

After four years of growing her hair back, Daisy is finally starting to feel normal again, but is still irritated in a few small spots, now the size of the tip of your finger.
These photos were taken with Daisy's little dig cam, and the pixels aren't very high. There wasn't a lot I could do with them to enhance them, without the photos turning out to be distorted. The pics are also 4 years old.

But it's the best she had, and I thank Daisy for sharing her story and her pictures with all of us, and I am sure no one would leave any comments expressing a negative reaction to make her feel any worse than she already has, and any such comments will be removed, like the old saying goes, if you don't have anything nice to say..

Daisy said to tell you, "This doesn't mean you shouldn't dye your hair, all this means, is that you should be aware of the burning sensation, and rinse it out immediately if you feel it. And that there is a danger when you dye your hair, that they don't tell you about, all of your hair could fall off. I mean, they show you the horrible things that smoking can do to you, graphically on a cigarette box, in some countries. Why can't they show you the risk that you take when you use a simple treatment of hair-dye?" She also added. "It was no allergic reaction, the damned stuff burnt the hair right off my head, and it took four years of torture to get it back."

Amen to that Daisy, thanks again sweetie, take care. I have done some research on the subject, and the case where the lady had sued and was rewarded $150,000.00 she actually had ALL of her hair burned off, at a salon.

If you want to read Daisy's story, here's the link to my article.

I have hair loss and diffuse thinning. I cry all the time for 2 years now my hair has gotten nothing but worse and it all began with a bad chemical straightener 2 years ago. I dye my hair too, and sometimes feel the itchyness when it's processing. No bald patches, but there is barely any furry soft hair left on my head. How can I get suggestions of that shampoo and what it is as well as what I can do. I'm so depressed and I hide from everyone.

Sacreeta, Thank you and Daisy for this insightful message. With help from this story and some contemplation, I've come to realize that I too have an allergy to the chemicals used in hair dye and have been experiencing hair loss for over the last 18 years of use. I was never as careful as Daisy as to do a patch test and accepted the slight burning sensation. But now having lost approx. 50 percent of my hair over the years thinking this was due to genetics or some unknown reason, I have now seen the Light and will never be a chemical hair dye user again. I've done Henna in the past and will be happy to try this agin in the future. I also wanted to share some information that I am currently working with that I believe can be a tremendous help to improve these types of hair loss/balding problem:

Essential Oils (Check online for a company called Young Living)

-3 drops of rosemary oil CT cineol

-5 drops of lavendar oil

-4 drops of cypress

-2 drops of clary sage

-2 drops of juniper oil

Blend with one tspn. Of water and massage into scalp. Best used at night.

The scent is wonderful and calming also. I will post my results in the future.

Thank you again for sharing your story.

Blessings of Peace,

Katherine

thank you the article was very useful. I have been having problems with my hair falling out for the past two years. I have ruled out various other things and i am finally coming around to the idea that it must be the hair dye that i use. There was one occasion that i left it on much longer than usual and i remember feeling a burning sensation. I am now pretty sure that i may have burned my head. I often feel also like there are ants running around on my scalp, and i also feel there are sharp things sticking out out my scalp.

Thanks again for your article.

What shampoo and conditioner do you recommend for people with hair loss and scalp burning?

It's good to warn people about hair care problems. Always use plastic utensils to stir hair dye products due to the chemicals involved....never use metal; even though products have been improved to prevent those hair loss issues.

I too, have recently experienced hair loss from an over the counter hair dye. Be careful when these manufacturer'es say to use the product with dirty hair. My belief is that if you have any other type of product on your hair prior to using any hair dye...is that there could be a chemical reaction due to, hairspray residue, mouse's, jells or any hair restyling or volume building products left on your (unclean hair) my advise is to: use it with unclean hair like they recommend) only after you have no other residue left on/ or put on your hair, prior to use.
